It was interesting seeing the new students in the program diagnose "shorts to ground" on the test boards today. While watching them I thought to myself, I had the same problems they are having not to long ago and I still struggle here and there with shorts. At my internship we came across many shorts and I found that schematics are the road maps and if you don't bother looking at them and using them, then you will have a very difficult time. I see technicians with years of experience still struggle with electrical faults and it's definitely an eye opener. The one problem with diagnosing that i see time and time again is, where to start testing. It all comes down to no matter how much I think I know, I really don't know enough, and I would like to dig deeper into the understanding of schematics because that is key.
